VFLEX technology requires coils that are accurately constructed and calibrated. Every time the detector starts up, the micro-controllers in the control box and the coil establish communication through a digital data link.
The X-Terra metal detector also introduces new graphic display pinpointing to put you right onto the target. The Pinpoint graphic display allows you to accurately dig the target with minimal ground disturbance, ideal for parks, buildings and other sensitive sites, and gives a nice centered response even from large deeper targets.

This is a great detector with nice features. In 4 days, I found 2 rings and plenty of change. I love it highly recommend it.

I have never detected. I have always wanted to. I got on Kellyco's website and narrowed my choices to 3 detectors. So I called Kellyco and asked them about the detectors that I picked. The person that I was talking said that the detectors that I have picked were not a good choice for western North Carolina because of the high mineralized soil. She said the X-terra 305 would be a good choice. Well, since I have never done this before, I was a little hesitant but I decided just go ahead and do it. I have been out only 5 times with the 305 I cannot believe how many coins I have found! The 305 is easy to use. I love the pinpointer. It is awesome. If anyone is a newbie, I highly recommend the X-terra 305. Call Kellyco and ask to speak to Doris.

Just before I left for Pakistan, I purchased an X-Terra 305 as per Steve's advice. Steve recommended this detector since it works better in high mineral areas. Pakistan/Punjab has a 5000 old history where Alexander the Great and Ghangis Khan and many others came to try their luck. It is a land filled with buried treasure. Unfortunately, it did not work out as I intended. It was not the detector. It was the depth. I was told by locals that everything is buried very deep there unlike in the U.S. I really needed a 2-box like detector in Pakistan. However, the 305 worked very well for a 10 inch target. I found one gun shell with 1928 date on it. I am still going to use my X-terra 305 in the U.S. but I am planning to go back to Pakistan with a detector that could find objects up to 10 feet deep. For the little I used Xterra 305, I was impressed with it.
