I recently purchased the Teknetics Delta from Kellyco. After a much anticipated wait, it finally arrived! I immediately put it together and took it in my backyard for some fine tuning. I was leery when I first bought the detector because I am an avid Garrett fan (still am). I turned on the detector and started swinging. I was amazed at the light weight. I could swing this detector around all day!! I found 9 pennies, 1 dime, and 2 quarters. Every target was accurate in the ID and the target depth. I highly recommend this detector and Kellyco for any future purchases.

I just bought this detector last week and it is amazing. The depth is great on it. My small skinny digger picks up at 10 - 11 inches, quarter 8 - 9 inches, dime 7 - 8 inches. It uses both VDI and target id which so far has been correct. The pinpoint is a little hard to use at first because it was so different but I quickly picked up on it. It is very light to use and easy to swing. I found a dime, nickel, quarter, car parts, etc with it so far. I haven't used it in a historic place yet.
The package this comes with includes headphones, pinpointer, carrying bag, etc and more. It was well worth the money. I couldn't believe my eyes with all the stuff it came with at such a low price. I recommend buying this detector.

While the Delta 4000 is easy to use and well built, the headset sent with it however is not. It’s got a design flaw. The earpiece cup and where it connects to the head band is very weak and will break easily. The machine itself is quite well made. It is lightweight and easy to use and understand.

I compared several units and settled on the Delta 4000. The five year warranty was a big selling point. I'm just getting into the hobby so I was very pleased to come across the Kellyco website. It made my search for a starter set much easier. I was able to track my purchase through the package tracking system and even adjusted my work schedule to be home when it arrived. It showed up right on schedule and within 30 minutes I was up and running. The unit was feather light and I was getting used to the hit tones within minutes. Since my residence has been previously owned by other folks over its 50 year existence, I began hitting pay dirt right away. My first finds amounted to 30 cents (1 quarter and 5 pennies.1 wheat penny.). I especially like the pinpoint feature for zeroing-in on those hits. I'm hooked...the wife has even come around when the coins started coming. I look forward to more to come. Thanks Kellyco!

I purchased a Delta 4000 detector in Oct. 2009. I went with Teknetics because I had a 1988 Teknetics eagle that was great. I have been detecting beaches for the last 3 weeks. It’s almost like this detector reaches out and grabs the coins. It won’t work in saltwater or wet sand but it’s a killer on dry sand. I have found dimes at 10 and 11 inches. The pin pointer works great. I have been doing this since 1980. I know this is not the most expensive detector and I think that a lot of these detectors are about the same but this one is so light that I can swing it all day. But you will be doing more digging with this one.I had a headset that was received broken from shipping. Raul from Kellyco was right on it.

This time out I strayed from the Garrett brand, which has had my business since 1986, and decided to give the Teknetics Delta a whirl. I have always bought from Kellyco. I believe that they have the best prices and customer service out there. The new web store makes it very convenient and ordering was a breeze.
The unit and all the extra goodies arrived in a timely manner and assembling was straightforward. The manual is well written and covers assembly and basic operations.
I chose this unit because I detect on and off as a hobby and I didn't think I could justify spending a huge sum on a detector. This detector also has a notch filter.
I had, in the past, used a Garrett model which had notch filters and really liked it.
I usually hunt for coins and jewelry at parks and playgrounds. Once in a great while I will hit a beach (fresh water).
My trial run was at a modern park built in the 1980s. I knew there would be no silver coins and I dislike digging holes in public parks. So I decided that I would pursue only targets less than 3 inches deep.
I knew right away, from the very small amount of trash I found, that this park had been worked over many times. Nevertheless, an hour's detecting netted a few pennies, 4 dimes, and 3 quarters.
At first I dug everything. The Target ID was spot on every time. After about 30 minutes, I ran the discrimination up to zinc, and notched in some nickels. Tests on several rings left me fairly confident that I wouldn't miss many gold rings with this set-up.
A few weeks later a woman who works with me lost a small silver ring in our parking lot, in 4 inches of powdery snow at work. I took the Delta to work and spent about 40 minutes searching before finding the ring. The discrimination was amazing. On a concrete parking lot riddled with iron re-bar I was able to almost eliminate the interference from the iron bar 2 inches below and still got a nice, clear, repeatable tone on the ring (It registered as a 50 cent piece).
This is a great little detector. If I hunted more, I might have stepped up to the Omega. After I retire, I might anyway but for the type and frequency of my detecting trips this one is just fine.
Also, it weighs almost nothing and one 9 volt battery is all it takes. Most folks I checked with tell me that one battery should give about 25 hours of service. I'll chime in with that info after I have to replace my first.

It is very well built and a great detector for the newbie or the pro. It is easy to set up and operate. It is also so light to swing. The pinpoint is spot on. It is really a great detector for the money. I would recommend this to any and all. If it is there, you will find it with the Delta!

I bought my delta 4000 about 5 months ago and have been very happy with it. This is the second detector I have owned. The reason I got the 4000 was it had all the features I was looking for at a very affordable price. The features I wanted was a target ID readout and a pinpoint feature, which my old detector didn't have. Both of those features make it very easy to I.D. and pinpoint your target with minimal digging. It was easy to set up and with in about 30 minutes I had the hang of it and was already starting to find coins. I am mostly a coin shooter and have found in excess of 450 coins since getting the 4000, several silver coins and my oldest coin being an 1889. I have also found 3 rings and several other interesting finds. I would recommend the 4000 to anyone looking to get into the hobby at a very affordable price. Also with all the extras thrown in by Kellyco such as the headphones and the hand held pinpointer and everything else you cant beat the deal. I would definitely give it 5 stars.

The Delta is my first detector. I spent hours reading numerous reviews and comparing features of other detectors, before purchasing the Delta. I can save you some time, if $300 is what you have to spend, buy the Delta. It is very light, I have shoulder issues and I remain pain free after several hours of swinging. I love the fact that it only uses one 9 volt battery and will run for 20+ hours on a new one. Pin pointing is spot on and it has a 5 year warranty! Target ID is good and the depth is surprising. I have found coins at 8+ inches on numerous occasions (with the stock 8" coil). My finds have ranged from civil war buttons to silver and jewelry too. If I had it to do all over again, I would still buy the Delta. If I upgrade, it will be another Teknetics and I will keep the Delta as a second machine.
