The Fisher F-70 is a very easy detector to use. I have been used to using a 1991 White's Eagle Spectrum and compared to that, the F-70 is a dream. This is a turn on and go machine.
The F-70 can be adjusted to most hunting that most people do. Excellent for coins, great for relic hunting and from what I have heard, a very good gold nugget hunter.
I love the light weight of this machine. Under 3 lbs. it is one of the lightest machines out and very easy to swing all day long. Great for the older folks with arthritis and great for youngsters also. The ergonomics are very good and the machine is very comfortable to use. The screen is fairly large and the numbers are easy to read even in direct sunlight.Recovery speed is awesome which is great for trashy areas.
The 4 AA batteries last an amazing 40 hours or even more. I run 2650 MHA rechargeable batteries and I can go up to 65 hours until I get a low battery warning.
I do a lot of coin shooting and the F-70 is so good at finding coins that it is scary. You can swing very fast and cover a lot of ground with the F-70. Depth is excellent with many coins found at depths of 10 to 14 inches depending of ground conditions.
There are a few coils that are available for the F-70. Any coil that can be used on the F-75 can be used on the F-70. My favorite is the 6 inch coil that is excellent in trashy areas like parks and school grounds. Several modes of operation are available and the F-70 can be adjusted to just about any conditions.
I have found several silver rings, a few gold rings and tons of coins with the F-70 in the 3 months I have owned it. More rings and coins in such a short time than any other machine I have ever owned so far. I would recommend the F-70 to anyone who is looking for an under $750 machine that performs like an above $1000 machine.
