Bounty Hunter Quick Silver

Bounty Hunter Quick Silver

The Quick Silver metal detector is an easy to use detector. The most difficult aspects of metal detecting have been modified. The Quick Silver is the most automated, easy-to-operate, professional metal detector ever designed. It is designed for those who are new to the hobby, providing maximum basic target discrimination, while requiring minimal operator adjustment.

The Quick Silver works in any environment, and is ideal for damp grass and shallow water spots. The search coil is waterproof; the case and case-to-cable connection is not. Be careful to keep the detector body dry.

While the LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) is very accurate in identifying buried objects, the user in the field does not always maintain the display screen in his field of vision. Therefore, we have incorporated an audio feedback mechanism to alert the user to the nature of the buried objects. This audio feedback system first alerts the user to the presence and classification of objects, whose nature and location can be confirmed using the LCD display. The detector will sound one of three different tones, depending on the type of metal detected.

I like the Bounty Hunter Quick Silver metal detector even though it's relatively inexpensive.

All you do is turn it on and go. And you don't have to worry about recharging the batteries. I've only had it out a few times but i don't have any trouble finding coins and other things. My neighbor wanted me to come over and see if i could find his water shut-off for him. He said he'd been living there for 40 years and he never knew where it was.

It didn't take me very long to find it. I was using it with the nugget coil. I've taken it to the park and a school. I found a variety of coins and a lock knife wire rim glasses. The list goes on and on. My Dad bought one after he saw mine. My Niece saw it and wanted one too. So she got one for Christmas. She's very excited about going out with my husband and me.

Personally, I can't wait to get out there too this year. I'd like to try it out on the beach. I hope i have as much luck there as i have in the park and school. I really like this detector because it's so easy and light weight. Using the nugget coil makes it easier for me to pin point where my objects are buried in the ground. I'm not yet very experienced with treasure hunting but the Bounty Hunter makes it easy that's why i like this metal detector.

I'm pretty new to metal detecting, but it's a hobby I've grown to love! I use my Bounty Hunter Quick Silver when we go on vacation and scan the beach, especially after large gatherings. I always wind up with something to make the effort worthwhile. Over the years, I've had luck finding necklaces, rings, and, of course coins.

The Quick Silver makes it easy for a beginner like me to useful find items quickly and with minimal effort by displaying whether the item is iron, aluminum, nickel, coins or precious metals. It also comes with a depth meter on the digital display that allows the user to scan as deep as four to five feet. There's also a jack to allow the use of headphones 00 which I highly recommend, as the beep on this thing is very loud.
This detector runs on two eight volt alkaline batteries and allows for fairly long usage.

I've also used my Quick Silver on a side project, grave detection. I've been working on documenting a pioneer cemetery with several unmarked graves. This little detector has come in handy by not only displaying the depth something be, but also if there may be someone buried on the spot. Usually the readings will display iron (nails), brass fixtures or buttons, etc. anything to show that someone may be there and be counted.

There are definitely better, more powerful models than the Quick Silver, but for the beginner, this is a wonderful model to start out with.

Last year i bought a Bounty Hunter Quick Silver metal detector. I had bought a VLF from Bounty Hunter and decided to upgrade a bit without spending alot of cash.

Anyway the first time I used it i found a dime about 2 in. down, but when I picked up the detector it didn't work!! I returned it and got another one with no hassles. I spent everyday that I could outdoors hunting. This machine is very easy to use, pretty much turn it on and go, with some nice results. I used it almost everyday and I found over $100 in coins, some silver, but mostly clad, at least 12 silver rings, and one 1800s gold ring, and an Indian Head penny dated 1862. Also some old relics too.

What I like about this machine is that you can turn off certain metals with the touch of a button, and you can get some good depth too. I have found pennies over 8 in. deep with a strong tone. What I also like about the QS is the open coil spider coil, which helps to pinpoint where the object may be. It has 3 different depth controls low, medium, and deep. What I don't like about the QS is that when you eliminate certain metals you have to do it in the order that they are displayed on the LCD. You cant search for just iron and coins you have to search for all metals to do so.

The Bounty Hunter Quick Silver detector is a great starter model for just about anyone new to this exciting hobby. It works great right out of the box and it's backed up a by a solid five year guarantee. It's light weight and adjustable stem make it a real comfort to swing for hours on end.

I chose the Bounty Hunter Quick Silver solely on its price. Some years ago I had a chance encounter with a dectorist in Wyoming's Wind River mountains. He was using a detector made by an Australian company and showed me his impressive successes in finding gold. I was instantly intrigued with metal detecting.

But when I learned how much the guy paid for his metal detector, I was just a little disheartened. Sometime later I did find the Quick Silver on sale at a local sporting goods store and I couldn't resist it. I got out into the local neighborhoods and park areas right away and began to find lots of lost change and inexpensive jewelry. But you know what, pretty soon it all starts to add up! Soon enough I found several rings that were later bought by a local pawnbroker and they together were worth several times more than what I paid for my new detector.

The QuickSilver is a quality rig. Its greatest value is in its simplicity. While many claim it's too simple and a real trash-hound, I disagree. I found in metal detecting, like so many other things in life, that to get to the real treasure, you have to be willing to sift through the trash. I also found in metal detecting you have to be a patient person. Good things come to those who wait is an especially true axiom in metal detecting.

I have found the Quick Silver's ease of setup and use to be real helpful in using it and showing others how use it as well. I believe metal detectors speak their own language and it's up to the detectorist to learn the machine's language and ALL of its nuances. And like anything else, that takes practice, lots of it to get good.

The Quick Silver makes that practice so easy. Its elimination and discrimination features are easy to comprehend and use. Its control panel display is easy to read and a joy to use so much so that it soon becomes second-nature. In conjunction with the visible alerts the three-tone audible status combines to provide me with a self-assuring reason to dig. Along with buying the best pair of knee-pads and a comfortable set of headphones, I'd thoroughly recommend the Quick Silver to anyone just starting in the field.

After recently returning from a second tour with the US Army, I decided I needed a hobby that would get me up and outside and also relax the soul.

I found myself attracted to metal detecting. After careful consideration of Kellyco's website and an even more careful consideration of my wallet, I decided on the Bounty Hunter Quicksilver as my entry-level detector to learn the ropes with.

I cannot express how pleased I am with this detector.

Since joining the sport I have met many wonderful people who have various types of detectors and I have to say that with a little practice and getting to know my machine I can keep up with the best of em! With the mix of features the Quicksilver brings to the beginner I can familiarize myself with features of much more expensive machines at a fraction of the cost.

I am learning the fine art of distinguishing sounds and reading a display while knowing when not listen to either one! I have used this quicksilver for about 2 weeks and I have already found enough loot to pay for a third of my next machine. I recommend the Bounty Hunter Quicksilver to anyone just getting into the sport.

It will serve you well as your first detector and a great back up for friends and kids that want to tag along on your future hunts. I am always a little skeptical of inexpensive price tags in a sea of high end items but this Quicksilver has certainly proved its mettle with me. It gets a GO at this station!

I just recently purchased the Bounty Hunter Quick Silver. I am planning a trip to Colorado this summer and want to do some treasure hunting as part of my vaction activities. I selected this unit due to price and claim to ease of use.

To put the Quick Silver to the test I went to a local city park after verifying that one can use metal detectors on city properties. I started my search in the sand volley ball court. Within a few minutes I had my first find part of a aluminum can, my next find was a bottle cap and then the final finds for the day consisted of 8 pennies. May not have been much in value but it did get this first time treasure hunter the treasure hunting bug.

The Quick Silver seem to work as advertised the visial status target indicator helped identified what I had found and the tones help me start distinguishing the difference between possible finds. I also found as advertise the ease of touch button control for off, on, depth control and discrimination. I also found it quite easy to transport, quick to break down and put together when ready to start the hunt.

Would I recommend the Quick Silver to others? The answer is a definite yes. It works as advertised. Easy to operate and maintain. The price is hard to beat for a first all digital reading detector. The detector is light weight, so it does not tire you out on the hunt and is backed by one of the longest limited warranties on the market. 5 STARS.

The Bounty Hunter Quick Silver is as easy as push the on button and go!!!! I am new to the metal detecting hobby so the discrimination feature helped out a lot.

I love to dig everything I look forward to see what my detector found for me, I found my first ever silver coin (a 1950 quarter) and a 1950 tootsie car. It is really got me excited about metal detecting I have mostly found coins, scrap metal, and nails. I would recommend this product to any newcomers or anyone wanting to get back to the basics. I would recommend if it is your first detector and your excited about getting it that you should probably get the 2-3 day shipping, it took 6 days to get to me I became impatient waiting for it, but I was excited when I got it I give it 5 stars!!!!

I am also looking forward to buying a better metal detector. Just the thrill of the hunt gives me the best rush. and the digging up what you found to see what it is. and always hoping it is something very rare.I also want to get in a club if there is one close by. since i started doing this i have other family members who have shown a great intrest in doing this a well. my mother wants one so i am going to see about getting her one for her birthday which ins in June. Her and my step-dad are retired and it will be a great hobby for the both of them, because they enjoying going camping a lot. In the future i hope to do some traveling to go on hunts with groups. I have learned a lot from the travel channel and also from the history channel. I find this to be a very easy hobby to learn and very easy to get started in. I have told lots of my friends about the thrill of the hunt, and the excitement of the dig. Hope to do a lot more in the future.

Why I bought the Bounty Hunter Quick Silver:
This is the first metal detector I have owned. I wanted to start out simple and inexpensive to see if I enjoyed the hobby. So far it's a lot of fun. I mainly go to school yards and parks looking for coins. In three hour long trips I have found around $8.00 in change. I haven't found any jewelry yet. I plan to take a trip to the beach soon and try to find some abandoned houses.

What I like about the Bounty Hunter Quick Silver:
I like the fact that this detector is really a two button setup (Discriminate and Sensitivity). This helps to make changes for depth and trash on the fly. Also the lcd screen is handy to see what the detector has found, and what you are discriminating.

What I don't like about the Bounty Hunter Quick Silver:
Now for the cons there are only three tones high, mid, and low.

My Plans for the detector:
Overall it's a great detector to get started with, and I would recommend it to anyone just getting started in the hobby. When I bought my Quicksilver it came with everything I needed to get started (trowel, carrying bag for the detector, and a waist pouch for my finds. All I had to do was put batteries in it and go. In fact if I when I get more consistent and I can justify a more expensive detector I plan to let my wife or daughter learn with this one or maybe keep it in the truck so I always have one on hand if I find a spot I can't resist.
